A cohort of 12 shortlisted competitors will get a chance to live, dive, and dine in Dubai while battling it out to win the prestigious title of The Big Cheese. From exploring the breathtaking city of Dubai in style to savouring gourmet meals at top-tier award-winning restaurants and experiencing the adrenaline-pumping thrill of Skydive Dubai, they can look forward to a culinary competition like no other. Besides having an exhilarating experience, the winners will gain many accolades and opportunities of a lifetime through this one-of-its-kind competition.
The primary purpose of this competition is to encourage the graduates of the USA Cheese Specialist™ Certification Program conducted by the USA Cheese Guild in association with ICCA to display their advanced cheese knowledge and exhibit their application, innovation, and presentation skills.
The USA Cheese Specialist™ Certification Program is a professional training curriculum to educate foodservice professionals about Cheeses from the USA, and how to use them in culinary applications. The version of the program geared toward culinary students is structured in three progressive levels – Associate, Intermediate, and Advanced – providing 36 hours of instruction, where students will develop a greater understanding and appreciation of cheese by tasting and cooking with a variety of cheeses from the USA. Upon completion of the program, students will be awarded the designation of ‘USA Cheese Specialist.’ More than 500 chefs and foodservice industry professionals have completed this program held at ICCA Dubai and other prestigious culinary schools and universities worldwide.
The competition will be followed by an exclusive Gala Dinner on October 25, 2022, with the who’s who of the industry in attendance.
